Fall Time

If the air is crisp, the trees blazing with color, and the bountiful harvest ready for picking; then you’re just in time to celebrate autumn in New York.

Leef Peeping

New York State’s wide variety of broad-leaf trees, presenting the most amazing range of colours, attracts people from around the globe. As we have about as many acres of these trees as all the rest of the Northeast combined, you’ll see the most spectacular displays in New York. The changing colours of the leaves follow the same pattern across the entire state; from the greens of summer, to the vibrant red, orange and yellow shades of the fall.

Activites/Events

Don’t miss out on the fall festivals and farm tours. Sample fresh-pressed cider and artisanal cheeses or pick your own apples and pumpkins. We also have hayrides sweet and scary, magnificent mountains for leaf peeping and Halloween celebrations that’ll never be forgotten

Explorers travel from around the world to see our gorgeous fall foliage. From Historic Hudson Valley estates, to the sky-high peaks of the Adirondacks, and from Finger Lakes vineyards to the majestic Niagara Falls, take in the stunning scenery from quaint vantage points in every region of New York.

Get a fantastic close up view of the autumn leaves on a narrated train ride, or see them reflected in the water on a picturesque boat tour. You can even enjoy in the surroundings by taking to the skies in a hot-air balloon or a soaring plane.

From the appearance of the first crimson maple leaf in the Adirondacks to the famous Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City, autumn is a celebration in New York. However you choose to enjoy it, it’s an awesome experience.

Culinary Treasures

Make the most of the enormous range of food and drinks that New York State has to offer. I LOVE NEW YORK has partnered with Edible magazines statewide to promote Eat Drink Local, a restaurant week dedicated to celebrating the local food chain. During this week local restaurants will create a new menu using local produce from NYS farms, businesses, wineries, breweries and much more. Wherever you are- there will be an Eat Drink Local near you; from Manhattan to Brooklyn, Long Island to the Finger Lakes, the Catskills and Hudson Valley
