Spring is the time of year for you to go wild! New York State makes it easy for you to trade the excitement of city life to unforgettable outdoor experiences. With the State’s parks and natural preserves offering a range of hiking trails for you to explore, you better lace up those hiking boots!

As the weather warms up, the fresh spring air welcomes you to stay outdoors longer- why not go camping or park your RV and spend the nights lit only by a campfire and the parade of starts above your head. With an option of over 8,000 campsites that New York has to offer; you’ll be sure to find a site to suit you


Sports & Lesiure

Take your pick of the exciting activities you can take part in. Go rock-climbing and hang off cliffs like those at the famous Shawungunk Mountains. Put some air in your tires and go mountain biking on challenging trails or leisurely take in the views with a biking tour of the countryside. Or why not rev up your engines for an exciting ride through endless ATV trails.

For those adventurers who prefer paddles have many options to perfect their skills. There are a wide range of places to go canoeing and kayaking, from historic waterways to little-explored branches of mighty rivers. You can also go whitewater rafting and brave the rapids whatever your skill level is. If you like motor boating, New York's lakes, rivers and oceans are yours to explore.

Golfers will find many reasons to love New York, with over 800 scenic golf courses, including challenging courses that have hosted U.S. Opens and PGA Tour Championships


There are plenty of spring events for you to sink your teeth into in New York State.
Why not try out one of our Summer Wind Cruises at Chautauqua Lake, enjoy the sunshine and breezes of the upper deck or relax in the climate-controlled comfort of the interior salon. Or if sailing on the water’s not for you; check out the New Paltz Summer Repertory Theatre where several plays are presented each summer in both indoor theatres and outdoor settings so if you’re an indoor or outdoor type- you’re happy both ways! Auditions are held in the spring at SUNY New Paltz campus, for those who fancy themselves as an actor- so why not be part of the show

Culinary Treasures                                            

Practice swirling your wine glass. If you're coming to New York, expect to do a lot of it. The right combination of climate and geography makes New York perfect for growing grapes— with than 35 different varieties across the state for you to try. If you're heading to the Finger Lakes, stop by the New York Wine & Culinary Center, where you can learn all about the state's bounty, wine and food.

With over 300 farmers markets taking place across the state with over 1000 farmers selling fresh fruits, vegetables, and locally made goods you will get a fantastic taste for New York State. Food Journeys also take place all around the state, ranging from New York City to Long Island to The Catskills. Restaurants from around the glove open their doors to you to try out their best, more exotic dishes. Delicacies including Thai-high calamari to soft shell crabs to fish tacos are all part of the experience.
